TEACHING PRACTICE PHASE 1 Week 4 (11/8/25 - 16/8/25)
In Week 4 of my teaching practice, I experienced a dynamic blend of challenges and successes while handling Standard VIII‑A mathematics classes focused on polygons and related algebraic concepts. The week began on Monday (Day 14) with Lessons 20 & 21, where I taught Problems on Difference of Squares and a Calendar Problem. Students were initially passive, especially in the 6th period, but relating the topics to real‑life situations and using group activities with calendars sparked active participation and improved attentiveness, aided by valuable feedback from Aswarya Miss. On Tuesday (Day 15), I introduced the new chapter Polygons with Lesson 22, employing the Concept Attainment Model; students constructed the concept through examples and non‑examples, which clarified their understanding.
