TEACHING PRACTICE PHASE 2:Week 7 (27/1/26-31/1/26)

Image
From 27/1/26 to 31/1/26, the teaching practice focused on a series of structured activities that built on assessment, support, and reflection. On Day 26 (27/1/26, Tuesday), an achievement test was administered in the 3rd period for 40 minutes to evaluate students’ understanding of covered topics; clear instructions ensured a calm, disciplined atmosphere and the test ran smoothly. The next day, Day 27 (28/1/26, Wednesday), the teacher discussed the test question paper and evaluated answer sheets, explaining correct answers and highlighting key questions, which made the session useful and kept students attentive and interested. On Day 28 (29/11/26, Thursday), a diagnostic test for Class 8 was conducted in the 3rd period to identify strengths and weaknesses, while a Class 10 lesson on drawing tangents was handled in the 6th period, with extra problem‑solving that made the day well‑organized and productive. Day 29 (30/1/26, Friday) involved remedial teaching in the 2nd period, providing in...

INNOVATIVE WORK SEM 4

Image
I have developed an interactive lesson plan on Parallelogram and Its Properties for Class VIII, incorporating storytelling, activity-based learning, gamification, and constructivist approaches. The plan includes a storytelling session, The Parallelogram Family, which introduces the concept and highlights special cases like rectangle, rhombus, and square. The lesson features a tilting parallelogram model that illustrates key properties, such as equal opposite sides and angles, allowing students to visualize and understand the concept better. A game named Bingo was administered, reinforce the properties of parallelogram and promote logical thinking. The activities are designed to promote understanding, logical thinking, and engagement. Students learn to identify parallelograms, state their properties, and verify them using models. The innovative features of this approach include story-based concept formation, learning through model manipulation, puzzle and game-based reinforcement, ...

TEACHING PRACTICE PHASE 2 : Week 6 (19/1/26-23/1/26)

The week from 19/1/26 to 23/1/26 focused on the mathematics unit Parallelograms for Standard VIII, Division A from Lesson plan 26-30. On Monday (19/1/26), the lesson was on the area of a parallelogram (3rd period), where activities were used to show that the area remains the same for different base‑height combinations; students actively applied the formula and participated well, making the lesson effective in grasping the area concept. On Tuesday, the 7th‑period class involved teaching Class X the construction of an incircle, which was understood clearly by students and made the class smooth and interactive, proving the lesson effective and the experience productive. Wednesday’s lesson (21/1/26) dealt with rhombuses, using cut‑outs and charts to differentiate rhombuses from squares and teach the area formula; students responded actively, showing clear understanding, and the visual aids made the concept simple and interesting, rendering the lesson engaging and effective. Thursday’s...

TEACHING PRACTICE PHASE 2: Week 5 (12/1/26-16/1/26)

The teaching experience from 12/1/26 to 16/1/26 (Days 16‑20) focused on parallelograms for Standard VIII, Division A,  covering diagonals, constructions, properties, and area using Lesson plan 21-25. A constructivist model was used throughout the week, combining explanations with diagrams, hands‑on activities, group work, and real‑life situations to help students build their own understanding. Key learnings included the properties that diagonals of a parallelogram bisect each other (students actively participated and grasped the concept well), construction of parallelograms using diagonals and angles (most students followed the steps, with a few needing extra practice for accuracy), the midpoint theorem for parallelograms (activities helped students apply the idea of parallel lines formed by joining opposite midpoints), the fact that equal diagonals imply a rectangle (students linked parallelograms to rectangles), and the area of a parallelogram equals base × height (group d...
