TEACHING PRACTICE PHASE 2 : Week 3(24/11/25-28/11/25)


During the week from 24th November 2025 to 28th November 2025, classes were handled for Class VIII (Division A) on the unit Ratio. The lessons focused on strengthening students’ conceptual understanding and improving their ability to solve problems related to ratios.

Various topics such as Three Measures, Problems on Three Measures, Parts of a Line, Parts of a Triangle, and Problems on Parts of a Triangle were covered in Lesson plan 11-17 using different teaching strategies. Drawing activities, problem-solving sessions, inquiry-based learning, and ICT tools like PPT were used to make the lessons engaging and effective. These methods helped students visualize concepts clearly and apply ratios confidently in different situations.

Students actively participated in classroom discussions and activities. Most of them were able to solve problems independently by the end of the week, while additional support was given to slow learners through guided practice. Substitution periods were also utilized productively by conducting interactive and geometry-based activities.

Overall, the week was fruitful and well-organized. The varied instructional approaches enhanced students’ interest, logical thinking, and confidence in handling ratio-related concepts, leading to a meaningful learning experience.

  An Online talk series on "Cases and Causes that Truly Matter" the free voice was organised by Peet Memorial Training College, Mavelikara, on August 2nd,2024, at 6:30 PM. The session was very insightful, focusing on the memoirs of special education, and was led by Dr. Anu Mukund, a lecturer in English at the National Institute of Speech and Hearing, Thiruvananthapuram.

COMATICS: Commerce & Mathematics Association Inauguration 2K24

 COMEX and NUMINA, the Commerce and Mathematics Associations of Peet Memorial Training College, Mavelikara, jointly launched 'COMATICS 2K24' on October 2024 at the College Auditorium.  The event started with a prayer song by the college choir, followed by a warm welcome by Ms. Aiswarya M., Mathematics Association Secretary. Dr. Renginy K.R., Commerce teacher-in-charge, presided over the session. The principal, Dr. Alie Molly Verghis, inaugurated both associations, highlighting maths' universal relevance and commerce's daily impact. She praised the joint inauguration, showcasing maths' correlation with other subjects. The programme featured a logo reveal for NUMINA and felicitations from college union leaders.
