TEACHING PRACTICE PHASE PHASE II: WEEK 4 (6/1/26-8/1/26))

The week focused on teaching parallelograms to Standard VIII, Division A, through three consecutive lessons (Lesson Plans 18, 19 &  20). The teaching approach combined visual aids, the Concept Attainment Model, and activity‑based group work to introduce and deepen understanding of parallelogram properties and constructions.

Students were re‑engaged after a break and remained interested throughout the lessons, enjoying geometry and developing confidence in constructions. The creative activities of drawing combinations of parallelograms and rhombuses reinforced concepts and sparked enthusiasm for geometric designs.

However, a few learners needed more practice to improve accuracy in constructions, indicating a gap that requires differentiated instruction or additional follow‑up activities for those students.

Overall, the teaching method was effective in laying a strong foundation, boosting engagement, and enhancing students’ interest in geometric concepts, while highlighting the need for targeted support to ensure every student masters construction skills.
