"SNEHAKOOTTE" Old Age Home Visit - September 25, 2024
The National Service Scheme of Peet Memorial Training College, Mavelikara, organized a visit to Gandhi Bhavan Snehaveed, an old age home in Haripad, on September 25, 2024, as part of the 'Snehakootte' initiative.
The programme commenced at 10:30 am with a warm welcome address by Mr Shameer Muhammed, Director of Gandhi Bhavan Snehaveed, who introduced the volunteers to the home and its residents. Dr Mumtas S, Programme Officer, Mr Biju David, and Arya A.R., NSS Student Coordinator, delivered speeches, highlighting the significance of the visit.
The NSS volunteers engaged the inmates in various activities, including music, experience sharing, games, and speeches, fostering a sense of camaraderie and joy. The volunteers also presented essential items to the inmates, which were subsequently distributed.
The event concluded with a joint lunch, attended by NSS volunteers, college officials, inmates, and guests, followed by an inter-faith prayer. The programme came to a close at 1:45 pm, having achieved its objective of spreading joy and companionship to the elderly residents.
