This event provides a unique platform for students with imaginative minds and a flair for articulate expression to step into the roles of others and voice their thoughts confidently.
The third season of this captivating programme was conducted on 30 September 2024 at 1:30 p.m. in the college auditorium. The event was convened by Dr. Alie Molly Varghis and Dr. Velayudhan Nair T, with Sethulekshmi T and Vismaya Vinod serving as the student coordinators.
In the Mock Press event, participants were required to assume the persona of a celebrity assigned through a draw of chits and perform by adopting the mannerisms, expressions, and viewpoints of that individual while responding to questions from both the audience and the judging panel. The judging panel comprised both teacher and student representatives. The teachers’ panel was chaired by Dr. Velayudhan Nair T and Dr. Sony Mary Varghese, while the student panel included Lekshmi S and Lekshmi H, first-year B.Ed. English optional students.
The primary objective of the event was to identify and develop students’ acting skills, enhance their presence of mind, and strengthen their ability to face challenges with confidence. The programme witnessed remarkable performances by all 14 participants, each showcasing their talents in acting and spontaneous speaking. After a closely contested evaluation, Sruthy M. Nair from Social Science secured the first prize with a cash award of ₹1000, followed by Lakshmi Sunil from Physical Science, who won the second prize of ₹500.
